We are busy getting ready for our move--doing things like taking care of paperwork, doctor's appointments, shoving personal things in storage closets so that our tenants don't have to stare at our relatives' pictures the whole time they're staying here, and working on a list of things we want to see when we're finally in Japan.
One of the things we've discovered in our readings and can't wait to see in Tokyo next year is the Naki Sumo event. This is an event filled with crying babies and sumo wrestlers. The parents give the Sumo wrestlers their babies up on a stage where they then try to make them cry. Apparently, despite a possible need for therapy in later life this is desireable in that it's supposed to bring the babies a long, healthy life or some such thing. It's pretty cute.
