I recently signed up on a Japanese job board to receive alerts of jobs I might vaguely qualify for once I'm over in Japan. The site is called GaijinPot.
I just received my first emailed job alert this morning and my first chuckle of the day. It is for a job announcement for an 'English Instractor'. I was intrigued. Upon clicking I discovered that they are looking for an English Instructor for kids at some school.
Hmmm. I know the job I really want. It's to go around fixing all the misspellings and poor grammar translations in public places throughout Japan. I got this idea when traveling there last time and I spotted an affixed acrylic sign in a big department store that read, 'Escarator'. And this was not the only English mistake I found on that trip.
I figure I will charge a minimal amount per 'FIX'. From what I saw on my last visit, I should make a nice little sum.
